Super League shareholders have given their nod to Metaplanet’s proposal involving a contribution of 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million in cash, aimed at establishing a new Bitcoin treasury platform listed in the U.S. Although this approval marks a significant milestone, the deal is not yet finalized. At the annual meeting held on October 16, Super League Enterprise announced that shareholders sanctioned the necessary proposals, advancing Metaplanet’s plans further. Upon completion, which is anticipated to take place in the fourth quarter, Super League will undergo a name change to Superplanet and will be traded under the ticker SUPA. This collaboration not only provides a possible U.S. capital-markets foothold for the Japanese Bitcoin treasury expert but also allows Super League to maintain its media and advertising segment. However, investors should note that this vote is merely a step in the process; several regulatory and Nasdaq requirements still need to be fulfilled before the transaction can be closed. The nature of the proposed structure raises important considerations regarding ownership distribution, potential additional capital raising, and the impact on the risk profile of a Bitcoin-centric public entity.
